Laboratory Supervisor – Night Shift
The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the department and personnel, under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager. Updating procedures, policies, and equipment to optimize exceptional internal/external customer service. Ensuring the staff perform their work accurately and performing quality assurance tasks as assigned by the manager or laboratory director. Must have excellent communication skills and make it a priority to consistently communicate positively and professionally with all staff members
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Train and provide oversight/direction to employees
- Delegate responsibilities and expect accountability; lead employees to set and accomplish goals for personal and company growth
- Provide input to the manager to be used for regular performance evaluations
- Monitor employee work to avoid overtime and assist lab manager with scheduling
- Enter edits and release test results in the computer using an established protocol
- Cover workbenches as needed
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
- Monitor inventory and notify the manager when supplies need to be ordered
- Write and maintain standard operating procedures
- Follow all procedures and update as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency
- Adhere to laboratory safety policies
- Maintain exceptional quality control and customer service
- Communicate any problems that could affect quality results, personnel issues or instrument issues to the lab manager or laboratory director
- Validate that work is performed accurately, analyze work for errors and resolve problems
- Delegate responsibilities and expect accountability; lead employees to set and accomplish goals for personal and company growth
- Communicates with other related departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed.
- Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance and either correct the problem or immediately notify the Director
- Supervises and coaches laboratory personnel in consultation with Human Resources and Director
- Oversees most laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions.
- Demonstrate the ability to be a team player and possess a willingness to perform duties that are assigned or delegated to him/her as well as a willingness to perform the duties of other employees as needed.
- Displays a positive attitude and flexibility in changing situations.
- Must demonstrate the ability to facilitate changes in a positive and supportive manner with all department personnel as well as demonstrating innovative practices in problem-solving
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in a clinical laboratory environment
- Bachelor’s degree in a science related field preferred
- MLT or MLS Certification Preferred
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience with direct reports
- Experience Using Windows-based software and Microsoft Excel, office
Laboratory Tech – Nights
Phoenix Central Laboratory has an immediate full time opening for a Medical Technician/Medical Laboratory Technician (MT/MLT) or Veterinary Technician.
Job responsibilities include:
- Performs manual and automated routine laboratory diagnostic tests
- Prepares specimens for microscopic examination
- Manually keys results accurately into LIS
- Performs a variety of tasks related to specimen accessioning and processing
Experience and Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree in science-related field preferred
- Medical Technician or Medical Laboratory Technician Certification (or equivalent) preferred
- Laboratory skills, with experience setting up, running and reading lab tests and operating laboratory instrumentation
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
- Detail oriented with ability to focus for long periods of time at task at hand
- Organized with ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Ability to troubleshoot within the guidelines of standardized procedures
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently or as part of a team, and to proceed with objectives without direct supervision
- Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability.
Courier Driver – Evening Shift
Phoenix Central Laboratory is seeking a full-time Courier for an evening route. This shift is Monday – Friday 3:30pm – 12am with some flexibility in the hours as it covers other routes and schedules may fluctuate.
The route would start in Mukilteo and we would provide the car and gas for all the necessary travel to our clients.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a valid Washington State driver’s license, and clean driving record. Must have the ability to learn and apply safety procedures, communicate clearly verbally and in writing, as well as have the ability to perform the physical requirements and essential functions of the job.
This position requires an individual to be able to lift up to 25 lbs. repeatedly, transport items in and out of a vehicle repeatedly, and be able to drive for long periods of time. Must be able to drive in all types of weather.
