Our goals of the Case Studies are to share with some interesting or challenging cases with you to help you interpret the results of your patient’s tests and remind you of the underlying pathophysiology of some disease processes.
Under the Microscope
Test your interpretative skills in microscopy. Each month, one or more interesting cases in hematology, urinalysis, parasitology, cytology and/or histopathology will be presented. Read through the information on the case then pretend you are looking under the microscope when reviewing the pictures. The answer and interesting information regarding the findings will be found in the microscopic description and interpretation.

Case Studies in Medicine
Each month we will present a case that we find particularly challenging and interesting for you to review. These will most often demonstrate how valuable directed diagnostic testing can be to the ultimate outcome. Before reading through the interpretative comments, quiz yourself on possible diagnoses for each case, next steps you would do, treatment options, etc. and assess yourself against how the case was managed.
