Hello, my name is Lani Bower. My love of animals began early, as I grew up in Wyoming, and my parents always took a keen interest in showing us the beauty of the wildlife there. My schooling began in Wyoming, then on to Connecticut, then Boston where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Northeastern University. From there, I received a Masters of Agriculture in Integrated Resource Management from Colorado State University in 2008 and continued at CSU receiving my DVM in 2014. I continued on to the University of Tennessee for an anatomic pathology residency and became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2017.
My love of the outdoors drives me on my days away from work. While my Yorkshire Terriers would rather stay in bed all day and my turtle would rather sunbathe, my family and I love the Pacific Northwest with all of the outdoor activities it has to offer. I particularly like downhill skiing, camping, hiking and partaking in water activities.
Pathology is my passion and I enjoy all parts of my job. Specifically, I love wildlife/exotic medicine, dermatopathology, and infectious diseases. I am excited to be a part of the Phoenix Laboratory Family.
