Dr. Pattullo has arrived at Phoenix Central Laboratory by way of a very convoluted career path. After completing her Bachelor of Music in flute performance and secondary education (yes, you read that correctly) from the University of Calgary, she decided that teaching music was no longer for her and pursued the next logical career choice: veterinary medicine. After completing her pre-veterinary requirements at the University of Saskatchewan, she continued on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.
She practiced small animal medicine for 4.5 years before returning to the University of Saskatchewan to complete her residency and Master of Veterinary Science degree in clinical pathology. Following the dreaded ACVP board exams, she moved to Champaign, Illinois to begin work as a clinical instructor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She worked there for almost two years before being lured by the siren song of the Pacific Northwest and Phoenix Central Laboratory.
Dr. Pattullo has two cats, Frank and Harriet, and is looking forward to spending a lot of time outdoors, now that she is no longer surrounded by corn (Illinois) and wheat (Saskatchewan). She loves hiking (although living on the prairies for the last 12 years has taken a toll on her hiking ability), being on the water, and good wine!
